Infineon Villach opened its €1.6 bn fully-automated 300 mm thin-wafer fab on 17 September 2021 — note this is not the €5 bn Infineon Dresden fab. ams OSRAM Premstätten received €227 m EU/Austrian Chips-Act state-aid in February 2025 for a €567 m total programme through 2030.
